ADDS - Point of Care Dispensing System

Our ADDS (Automated Drug Distribution System) technology is a self-contained automated outpatient point-of-care pharmacy system that enables the remote monitoring and dispensing of pre-packaged unit-of-use pharmaceuticals. The ADDS virtual pharmacy consists of a computer, pharmacy software, communications links, scanner, printer and advanced drug dispensing cabinetry, the integration of which forms a complete point-of-care dispensing system that requires minimal space. Each system is an automated mini-pharmacy that can be located virtually anywhere, and controlled by computer from virtually anywhere, all at a fraction of the cost of a brick and mortar pharmacy. Each ADDS computer is electronically linked to one or more prescription dispensers. Remote control is achieved through electronic connection over various mediums including video teleconferencing. There are four models of ADDS systems. ADDS 2.0 ADDS 3.0 ADDS 5.0 ADDS 8.0 ADDS systems are configured to dispense more than 90 percent of a typical clinic’s acute formulary requirements. All ADDS systems are equipped with multi-level password control, dual mechanical locks and 90 gauge steel walls to ensure security. An optinal electronic alarm can be added to any system. Full inventory accountability is maintained, as ADDS dispense only one package at a time. Up to 10 ADDS units can be daisy-chained via standard serial port connection to meet larger clinic needs. Each ADDS cabinet, of which the ADDS 3.0 which can be stacked on top of the ADDS 2.0 for maximized use of space, has a small, 32-by-36 inch footprint.

Linking Patient and Pharmacist
Linking multiple satellite clinics that are equipped with ADDS point-of-care cabinetry and peripheral equipment, to a central pharmacy with an ADDS workstation, creates an extremely cost-effective "hub and spoke" pharmacy system. ADDS technology enables pharmacists to dispense prescription medications directly to patients, right at the point-of-care.

Videoconferencing
Many of the "ADDS" virtual pharmacies are directly linked to a host pharmacist via live televideo, thus enabling "face-to-face" pharmacist-to-patient consultation.

ADDS technology electronically captures prescriptions right at the point-of-care, including all important initial-fill and acute-need prescriptions, thus assuring third-party payor/PBM formulary compliance, efficient adjudication, and economic prescription dispensing.
